A tribute to a long-standing supporter of the Ottawa Food Bank

The team at the Ottawa Food Bank is saddened to learn of the recent passing of an incredible person who went above and beyond to support her community.

With permission from her family, we recognize Rosemarie Spoerri as a wonderful and generous member of the Ottawa community who has been a steady donor of the Ottawa Food Bank for the last 20 years.

Ms. Spoerri cared deeply about the health and well-being of children, and often guided her donations and energy in that direction. She donated towards the Ottawa Food Bank’s KickStart initiatives, as well as the Community Harvest Farm. Both aligned well with her desire to help our community’s most vulnerable population of young people.

Ms. Spoerri was also very generous with her time, as she has volunteered for a number of decades with the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO).

She will be missed by many, and we are grateful to have known her.
