A successful Spring Food Drive
THANK YOU to everyone who participated during our Spring Food Drive on Saturday, April 8th in grocery stores across the City.
Traditionally, this food drive takes place over two days during the weekend. This year we decided to cover more stores and concentrate on a one day blitz. This paid off, as our generous supporters donated nearly 11,300 lbs in just 6 hours!
Thank you for filling our red bins with your family’s favourite non-perishable items. You are truly making a difference for the 41,500 people for whom our community food programs partners provide for every month. Celebrations, such as Easter, which are largely centered around food can be difficult for these families and individuals. You have helped make this time of year a little easier for our neighbours in need.
Also thank you to our volunteers. Simple put – this food drive would not be a success without you. Thank you for encouraging shoppers to become donors. We really appreciate the time you give to the Ottawa Food Bank.
Finally, thank you to our wonderful grocery store partners! This food drive took place in Loblaws, Superstore, Metro, and Your Independent Grocer locations across the city. We couldn’t do this without you. Thank you!
