Goodness, Gracious, Great Bowls of Fire!
Thank you to the Ottawa Guild of Potters for generously hosting another successful Great Bowls of Fire event, in support of the Ottawa Food Bank. Your hard work, generosity, and continued support is not only appreciated by us, but also by the 38,400 people for whom we provide food every month.
This annual event always features delicious soups by local restaurants, delightful bread from local bakeries, music, friends, and of course beautiful pottery made by The Guild themselves.
Attendees get to pick a hand-made bowl to dine with (and keep!) and more pottery is on display for silent and live auction. The pieces that are made are truly magnificent – the Ottawa Guild of Potters should be proud of their skills.
This years event raised just shy of $14,000 for the Ottawa Food Bank! Thank you to the nearly 300 people who purchased a ticket and all who bought auction items.
Thank you also to the local chefs and bakers who make the event an especially delicious affair. (Restaurants: Absinthe, Il Negozio Nicastro, Il Primo, Marc Kitchen, Pelican Seafood Grill, TastersHub, The Joy of Gluten Free, The Table, Thyme and Again, and the Union Street Café. Bakeries: Life of Pie, Sweet Sigrid, The Joy of Gluten Free, The Rowan, Trillium Bakery, and the Wild Oat. Coffee and Tea, Goodies Fine Catering) .
