Thank you, future health care pros!

Congrats and thanks to our future health care professionals

On Sunday, the Ottawa Food Bank was honored to join the 130 plus students at their Graduation Class of 2012 from the University of Ottawa/Algonquin College Bachelor of Science in Nursing program for their pinning ceremony.  A pinning ceremony is where each graduate nurse is pinned and recognized for the hard work that they have put into their undergraduate degree as well as the field they are embarking in.

The students collectively, made a $600 donation to the Ottawa Food Bank in support of our KickStart program.  KickStart helps school meal programs and after-school clubs give nutritious meals and snacks to children who often go to school hungry. KickStart also supplies lunches to day-camps throughout the summer when school is out. By preventing children from going hungry during the day, we can help them succeed in school and beyond.

A special thanks to you all, as it was an honour to join you for this special milestone.
