FOOD CRISIS: FROM PRICES TO STABILITY

World Food Day is celebrated every year around the world on the 16th of October in honour of the date of the founding of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations in 1945.

Every year has a theme, last year’s theme was United Against Hunger, and this year it’s Food Crisis: From Prices to Stability.

The FAO encourages that on World Food Day we, “look seriously at what causes swings in food prices, and do what needs to be done to reduce their impact on the weakest members of global society.”

To do your part to help with local hunger, look into the ways you can donate and volunteer at the Ottawa Food Bank.

  1. Ever since ODSP reduced the dietary supplement I am living ever more precariously! Something drastic needs to be done, we can’t continue to rely on Foodbank!
