A Fantastic Food Aid Day

The eighth Annual Food Aid Day BBQ and CFRA Broadcast, held on June 1, was a huge success. This year’s BBQ and broadcast raised a record-breaking $167,407 for the Ottawa Food Bank’s Food Aid program.

Food Aid is a beef program at the Ottawa Food Bank where the money raised goes towards purchasing and processing local beef that will be frozen and distributed to Member Agencies throughout the year. Since the launch of the program in 2005,  Food Aid has raised close to $1 million.

This year’s donations will be used to provide 1,700 pounds of ground beef to those in need per week, for the whole year.

Thank you to everyone to donated and / or attended the BBQ. Your support is greatly appreciated by everyone at the Ottawa Food Bank, and those you have helped in the Ottawa community.
