Thank you very much to Her Excellency Mohau Pheko and our friends at the South African High Commission in Ottawa and the Ottawa East Seventh Day Adventist Church. To celebrate Nelson Mandela Day, on July 18, the South African Community held a food drive for the Ottawa Food Bank.
The objective of Mandela Day is to honour the legacy of South Africa’s former President, Nelson Mandela, and his belief in and commitment to volunteering and community service.
The South African Community certainly took this goal to heart and in one day were able to raise 650 pounds of food and $228!
