Capital Food Blitz Food Drive

It’s time, once again, for us to team up with Yasir Naqvi, MPP Ottawa Centre, and local politicians for the Capital Food Blitz Food Drive on June 15.

Keep an eye out for local politicians and Ottawa Food Bank volunteers at 18 Metro, Loblaws, Your Independent Grocer’s, and Superstore locations between 1 p.m and 4 p.m. during the day handing out donation bags to fill with non-perishable food items for the Ottawa Food Bank.

We’d love for you to help us out and volunteer! Sign up today:

  1. When a family or individual in our community needs emergency food assistance, there’s an Ottawa Food Bank Member Agency around the corner. Whether it’s groceries for the family, a children’s breakfast before school or a hot meal at a shelter, our beneficiaries will receive help to get back on their feet. – The Ottawa Food Bank provides 48,000 people each month with emergency food assistance, 37 per cent of whom are children. – The Ottawa Food Bank supports more than 140 food programs throughout the National Capital Region. – 12-15 tons of food leaves our Michael Street warehouse each and every working day. – $1 donated to the Ottawa Food Bank generates $5 worth of food into the community.
