The staff team and Board of Directors at the Ottawa Food Bank would like to wish our Board Chair, Diane Morrison, a heart-felt congratulations for her recent Order of Canada recognition.
The Order of Canada is a centerpiece in Canada’s honours system and recognizes a lifetime of outstanding achievement, dedication to the community, and service to the nation.
Diane was recognized for her hard work, innovation, and dedication in city-wide efforts to alleviate hardship for disadvantaged citizens, according to Rideau Hall. Diane was executive director of the Ottawa Mission, which provides food and shelter to homeless men, for two decades, until her retirement earlier this year. She increased services, including a hospice linked to the shelter, which is believed to be the first of its kind in North America
