Elliott’s Amazing Imagination
One of the many great things about working at the Ottawa Food Bank is when supporters and members of the community come to visit to see their donations at work.
Today an enthusiastic five year old, Elliott, stopped by with his Mom and Dad. Elliott celebrated his birthday at the end of February and collected donations for the Ottawa Food Bank at his party. They came to make their donation and see what happens once it arrives at our warehouse.
As you may imagine, the Ottawa Food Bank warehouse has very tall racking on which the sorted food is stored. Elliott was VERY curious about how we could possibly get the food off the top shelf, and loved the idea a special machine called a “forklift” to help us with that task. He had many questions about how this machine would work.
At the end of the tour, when asked if he or his parents had any more questions, Elliott had an amazing thought:
[blockquote] “Do you sometimes use a pogo stick to get the food off the top shelf? No, probably not, ’cause that would be silly, right?” [/blockquote]
It may be silly Elliott… but it would be a lot of fun!
Thank you for your visit, your questions, and your amazing support.

Thank you for sharing this story. Elliott is our little gandson and I’m sure he will tell us all about his visit at the Ottawa Food Bank when we return from Florida.
