Hosted by The University of Ottawa School of Music and The Faculty of Arts, this annual free event is presented by Music and Beyond. This musical day will be “jam-packed” with fun activities and performances geared towards families and children, with the intent of fostering a love of classical music.
Spread over three blocks of the university campus, the day will include performances by professional classical musicians, dance, magic and art experiences, a caricature artist, face painting, and “The Amazing Musical Race” offering young people the chance to compete in musical challenges for sensational prizes.
Come and enjoy the feel of grass between your toes with the Music and Movement program on Tabaret Lawn featuring interactive classes by professional teachers in Yoga, aboriginal drumming and Traditional Bollywood, African Fusion, and Zumba style dance.
A variety of short and intimate musical performances by headliners such as Tapestry, The Vienna Piano Trio and JJ Bui (CBC’S Piano Hero) will take place inside Perez and Tabaret Hall.
Do your fresh fruit and vegetable shopping at the MarketMobile, sign out some musical books at the Ottawa Public Library Bookmobile and taste a sample of Ottawa’s best food trucks, bring a blanket and enjoy Junkyard symphony and the Nepean Pan Harmonics steel drum band while you eat your lunch!
