The Great Glebe Garage Sale is a popular community event held in the Glebe since 1986. The in-person sale is back for 2023 and is set to happen on Saturday May 27, 2023, from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
Homeowners in the Glebe are the primary vendors selling their stuff from their front lawns, driveways, and porches. Glebe merchants also hold a huge sidewalk sale. Collectively, they make one giant event that has become an annual community festival attracting thousands of people to the neighbourhood. From the start of the Great Glebe Garage Sale, the Glebe Community Association has encouraged everyone to voluntarily donate some of their proceeds to the Ottawa Food Bank. As a charitable organization, the Ottawa Food Bank will issue tax receipts for donations.
