Peter Tilley to become Executive Director of the Ottawa Mission
Ottawa, ON –The Ottawa Food Bank’s Executive Director Peter Tilley will leave at the end of May to lead the Ottawa Mission.
“It’s a bittersweet day for our Board of Directors and staff team,” says Michael Adams, Board Chair, “but we’re exceptionally proud of Peter and what he’s accomplished here in his 19 years at the Ottawa Food Bank. He’s ready for a new challenge and the Ottawa Mission is very fortunate to be getting a leader of his caliber, level of passion and integrity.”
Tilley joined the Ottawa Food Bank in 1994 as a driver and later became manager of its warehouse operations. In 1999 he was appointed Executive Director, leading the organization through considerable change and success, most notably the recent expansion of its operations on Michael Street into its current 21,000 sq. ft. space.
“Over the years I’ve had tremendous support from the Ottawa Food Bank organization to manage and develop programs that have had an enormous and positive impact on our community,” says outgoing Executive Director Peter Tilley. “I will miss the Ottawa Food Bank, but look forward to working with the Ottawa Mission.”
Adams notes that Tilley’s departure will leave very large shoes to fill, but the new Executive Director will inherit an efficient and exceptionally committed team just as the organization prepares to mark its 30th year serving the community in 2014.
The search for a new Executive Director for the Ottawa Food Bank is now underway.
