Food Aid Breakfast & BBQ

FA Logo214 - smallTo help raise money for our Food Aid program, we hold an annual BBQ. After all, what better way to raise money for a program that supplies beef to those in need than by selling burgers from The Works?

Rural businesses will once again be on hand to showcase their products, services, and events during the Rural Expo both inside Jean Pigott Hall and outside in Marion Dewar Plaza.

When: Thursday, June 4. The breakfast starts at 7 a.m. at City Hall, and The Works BBQ is from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Where:
City Hall front lawn
What: A day of fun including:

  • Stanley’s Olde Maple Lane Farm Pancake breakfast
  • BBQ with delicious hamburgers from The Works (At lunch, $10 gets you a burger, chips, and a drink)
  • Mayor’s Rural Expo
  • Animals
  • LIVE entertainment all day including musicians Jordan McIntosh at 11:30am and Brea Lawrenson at 12:15pm!!
  • Plus, a day-long CFRA radio broadcast to help raise funds.

Last year’s event and CFRA radio broadcast raised an incredible $134,000 for the Ottawa Food Bank’s Food Aid program!

  1. Thanks Jo-Anne. I would love to be there but unfortunately I am out of town for the week.

I will forward your invitation to my network.

Wishing you and your team a great success!

    1. That’s great, Heather!
Breakfast is paid by donation – whatever you’re willing to donate to the Ottawa Food Bank.

It starts at 7 a.m. and will wrap up around 10 a.m.

We hope to see you there.
      Cheers

    1. Hi Eric,

Yes – there will be veggie burgers. As this is the first year that a veggie option will be offered, it’s a bit of a trial run with limited numbers.
I recommend you show up earlier rather than later. Let the payment table know that you’d like a veggie burger.

      Cheers.
      See you tomorrow!
