Mais le type de nourriture que les individus recoivent importe autant que la quantit\u00e9.<\/p><p>\u00ab L&rsquo;acc\u00e8s \u00e0 des aliments riches en nutriments soutient le bien-\u00eatre physique et mental des personnes de tous \u00e2ges, \u00bb explique Kelly. \u00ab C&rsquo;est essentiel pour un d\u00e9veloppement sain, la pr\u00e9vention des maladies et la cr\u00e9ation de communaut\u00e9s en meilleure sant\u00e9. \u00bb<\/p><p>Les personnes qui vivent une ins\u00e9curit\u00e9 alimentaire font souvent d\u00e9j\u00e0 face \u00e0 des d\u00e9fis importants. Des budgets limit\u00e9s peuvent rendre difficile la priorit\u00e9 aux aliments nutritifs lorsque des options moins ch\u00e8res et fortement transform\u00e9es sont souvent plus abordables.<\/p><p>\u00ab Il est beaucoup plus facile d&rsquo;\u00e9tirer son budget alimentaire avec des aliments peu co\u00fbteux et riches en calories \u00bb, explique Kelly. \u00ab Mais \u00e0 long terme, compter sur ces aliments peut mener \u00e0 la malnutrition, m\u00eame si une personne consomme suffisamment de calories. \u00bb C&rsquo;est pourquoi Kelly veille \u00e0 ce que la nutrition soit prise en compte lorsque les banques alimentaires prennent des d\u00e9cisions concernant les aliments qu\u2019elles distribuent. \u00ab Bien que les banques alimentaires visent \u00e0 distribuer de grands volumes de nourriture, il est important de se concentrer sur la qualit\u00e9 nutritionnelle de ces aliments \u2014 pas seulement sur le poids. \u00bb<\/p><p>La nutrition ne concerne pas seulement la sant\u00e9 physique.
