Tout a commenc\u00e9 il y a 42\u202fans<\/strong>, lorsque quelques b\u00e9n\u00e9voles passionn\u00e9s se sont r\u00e9unis pour r\u00e9pondre aux besoins des personnes de leur communaut\u00e9. Aujourd\u2019hui, \u00e0 la Banque d’alimentation d\u2019Ottawa, les b\u00e9n\u00e9voles demeurent au c\u0153ur de tout ce que nous faisons, contribuant \u00e0 r\u00e9pondre aux besoins des personnes en situation d\u2019ins\u00e9curit\u00e9 alimentaire partout dans la ville. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Dans le Rapport sur l’impact du b\u00e9n\u00e9volat de cette ann\u00e9e, nous mettons en lumi\u00e8re le pouvoir des liens communautaires afin de b\u00e2tir une ville plus s\u00e9curitaire sur le plan alimentaire. L\u2019une des r\u00e9flexions plus puissantes de cet impact provient directement de nos b\u00e9n\u00e9voles. Stella N., b\u00e9n\u00e9vole administrative et\u00a0de la r\u00e9ception, partage ce qui la motive \u00e0 redonner \u00e0 sa communaut\u00e9\u202f:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

\u00ab\u202fJe me souviens tr\u00e8s bien de ma m\u00e8re qui, quelques fois par ann\u00e9e, emmenait mes fr\u00e8res et s\u0153urs et moi dans un orphelinat de notre ville au Nigeria pour donner des jouets et des livres que nous n\u2019utilisions plus aux enfants. Je me rappelle \u00e0 quel point ils \u00e9taient heureux de nous voir et de recevoir des choses dont nous n\u2019avions plus besoin. Ma m\u00e8re c\u00e9l\u00e9brait son anniversaire chaque ann\u00e9e en visitant l\u2019orphelinat\u202f;\u00a0<\/span>j\u2019ai donc appris tr\u00e8s t\u00f4t la valeur de l\u2019engagement envers sa communaut\u00e9.\u202f\u00bb<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>
