How to get your Christmas Hamper

As we head into the cold months, we have begun to receive phone calls regarding how to go about getting a Christmas Hamper to help during the holidays.

Please note that the Ottawa Food Bank does not directly distribute Christmas Hampers and for you to get the holiday support you need, please:

  • Register by calling your community food program as early as possible. There are a limited number available, first come first serve.
  • OR call 2-1-1 to be referred to a program that prepares Christmas Hampers if your community food program does not, or has run out.

If you are looking to receive help getting toys for your little ones, please call 2-1-1 for a referral to those services.

    1. Good Morning April,

Could you please write to foodbank@ottawafoodbank.ca and clarify what you are talking about? The Ottawa Food Bank does not have a list – so I’m not certain what list you think you may be on with us. St. Joe’s is a wonderful program that we are honoured to work with – I hope you got what you needed from them.

    1. Good morning Ms. Winkler,

The Ottawa Food Bank does not directly have a Christmas Hamper program. While we provided food to food programs across the city, they are their own independent charities. I recommend you contact your food program directly with your question. They will be able to better help you.
