Thank you to the friends and family of passed Ottawa Food Bank supporter Fred Wong for donating a van to the Ottawa Food Bank.
Fred Wong was a long-time supporter of the Ottawa Food Bank, throwing an annual BBQ with friends in an effort to raise money to help the Ottawa community. After he passed in 2008, his friends and family continued the tradition in Fred’s name and continued to raise funds. This year, they decided to put the funds to use and purchase a new van for the food bank. This van is much needed to help replace aging vehicles in the Ottawa Food Bank fleet.
“That tradition of continuing donations to the Ottawa Food Bank is a great way to remember [my brother],” said Ed Wong in a CFRA interview.
The van is a welcomed addition at the Ottawa Food Bank, and aptly named The Freddie, a great way to remember Fred.
