Michael Maidment begins role as Executive Director at Ottawa Food Bank
Brings wealth of social services, operations management and media experience to food support organization
(Ottawa, ON) – Michael Maidment has officially taken on the leadership role of Executive Director with the Ottawa Food Bank. For the past 7 years, Maidment served as Area Director of Public Relations and Development for the Salvation Army in the National Capital, Kingston, Quinte, and Eastern Ontario Regions.
“I’m honoured to be joining the Ottawa Food Bank,” says Maidment. “I’m also eager to roll up my sleeves and work alongside our team and volunteers at such a critical time when we need to restock our shelves from summer,” says Maidment.
The Ottawa Food Bank officially launches its Fall/Winter food drive season with its Thanks for Giving Food Drive at grocery stores citywide in early October.
“Our job, each and every day throughout the year, will be to continue to get food to the hungry and with it, build up their strength, independence and dignity,” says Maidment. “I’m very proud to represent such an important cause and to encourage the Ottawa community to rally around the most basic of human needs – food.”
