Ottawa Plays Hockey for Food!

Thank you to the team from Five Hole for Food for organizing such a successful stop in Ottawa.

People joined Five Hole for Food and the Ottawa Food Bank on Sparks Street to play some good ol’ fashioned road hockey. Admission to play was a donation to the Ottawa Food Bank.

Five Hole for Food travels across Canada stopping in major cities along the way. In each city they set up a fun day of hockey to raise food and money for that city’s food bank.

During their one-day stop in Ottawa, 2,000 pounds of food and $3,100 were raised!

Thank you to Five Hole for Food and their partners ING Direct and Nature’s Path. ING Direct donated $500 to the total, and Nature’s path contributed half the food collect! Amazing!

Another thank you to Shaylene Todd from Telus in Ottawa. She, along with her teammates stopped by with a huge donation of food for the Ottawa Food Bank, and organized a bake sale and raffle. THANK YOU!

Finally, thank you to all the wonderful people in Ottawa who stopped by the Ottawa Food Bank tent to say “hi” and make a donation. It was heart warming to receive donations for those who couldn’t stay to play hockey, but wanted to help out anyway. Thank you, Ottawa.
