Pound for Pound with Gabriel Pizza

Gabriel Pizza’s 32 locations are all set to begin their inaugural Pound 4 Pound campaign February 20th. The campaign encourages customers to order an extra-large pizza (which weighs four pounds) and then Gabriel Pizza will make a 4-pound food donation to participating food banks in our community.

“Gabriel Pizza is such a recognized household name,” says Michael Maidment, Ottawa Food Bank’s Executive Director. “We’re honoured to continue our partnership with them, along with their customers and suppliers, to benefit our community.”

The campaign, running from February 20 to March 20, has a goal of selling 10,000 pounds of extra-large pizzas and effectively donating the equivalent pounds of food to participating food banks from Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec.

“This is a time of year when our food banks are looking for additional donations,’ says George Hanna, President of Gabriel Pizza. “Gabriel Pizza is privileged to support these amazing organizations and our community. Pound for pound, we’re inspired to make a difference.”

As a launch to the campaign staff from Gabriel Pizza, including their president George Hanna, came to volunteer in the Ottawa Food Bank’s warehouse.
