Purolator Tackles Hunger with Redblacks and Fury

We were delighted to host the Purolator Tackle Hunger announcement in the Ottawa Food Bank warehouse along with Purolator and the Ottawa Sports and Entertainment Group.

This weekend there will be two games with one goal: Tackle Hunger! Friday the 15th the Redblacks take on the Edmonton Eskimos, and on Sunday the 17th the Fury play the San Antonio Scorpions.

Sports fans attending the games are asked to bring donations, either monetary or non-perishable, for the Ottawa Food Bank. Henry Burris, Redblacks Quarterback and Tom Heneimann, Fury Forward, are challenging Ottawa sports fans to be the best fans in Canada, by raising the most donations during Purolator’s cross-country Purolator Tackle Hunger campaign. The two teams have set a goal to cumulatively raise 50,000 pounds of food!

Thank you to Mayor Jim Watson and Coucillor Tim Tierney for coming to show your support of this amazing initiative.

Let’s Tackle Hunger, Ottawa!

There are still spots available to volunteer at both the games. So sign up today!
