September is HUNGER ACTION MONTH

We need to TAKE ACTION on hunger

Hunger Action Month is a nation-wide campaign that encourages Canadians to work towards a future without hunger. We are inviting YOU to join us in the fight against hunger in your communities through four key actions:

  1. Educate
  2. Advocate
  3. Volunteer
  4. Donate

Each week of the September will tackle one of the above themes. Let’s be LOUD this month. We must let everyone know that people going hungry in our city / province / country is NOT acceptable.

Throughout September, join the conversation online and use the
hashtags #HungerActionMonth and #FeedTheChange

If you’re wondering what you can do throughout the month to help, check out our Hunger Action Month calendar filled with suggested actions. Do one or do them all. It’s up to you! We appreciate that you are thinking of us and the 38,400 people for whom we help provide food every single month.

Most importantly, we need to ensure we’re reaching out to all levels of government. From municipal to federal, reach out to your elected officials and let them know why you think issues such as hunger, poverty, affordable housing, basic income, and increased social assistance rates need to be a priority TODAY.

Thank you for your continued support. Stay tuned this month – it’s time we all take action!
