Southway Lighting of the South End

You are invited!

On Wednesday, December 3, Councillor Diane Deans and Stephen P. Zlepnig, General Manager of the Southway Hotel, along with His Worship Mayor Jim Watson, will officially light the South End.  Together they will turn on the Southway Hotel’s magnificent display of over 100,000 Christmas lights during the annual Southway Lighting of the South End.

Residents and businesses have been invited to join in the festivities, which features a spectacular miniature train village in the hotel lobby, festive music from the students of St. Mark High School, a visit from Santa Claus, complimentary hot chocolate, coffee, and tea, as well as draws for several great prizes!

Attendees are encouraged to bring a donation for the Ottawa Food Bank, who will be on-site to collect both cash and food donations.

Event Details:

  • Wednesday, December 3 – 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. @ Southway Hotel, 2431 Bank Street
  • Speeches and Official Lighting Ceremony begins at 5:15 p.m.
  • Lighting of the 100,000 Christmas lights takes place at 5:45 p.m.
