Thank you to all who joined us for an afternoon in the sun at our Food Aid BBQ, presented by Casino Lac-Leamy, at Ottawa City Hall on June 7th.
This annual event helps raise money for our Food Aid Beef Program, which purchases from local beef providers in an effort of provide nutrient-rich ground beef to families and individuals in need. This is an expensive product that is always in demand at our community food programs. This event is also an opportunity to shine a light on amazing rural organization in the heart of the city.
Thanks to the generous support of individuals and organizations in the Ottawa community, this year’s Food Aid BBQ raised $79,808! This total far exceeds last year’s fundraiser. Thank you all for your generosity.
Mother Nature was on our side and brought perfect BBQ weather to help the amazing team from The WORKS as they volunteered their time and grilled up delicious Works Burgers for approximately 990 of our closest friends.
Thank you to Bell Media and Ottawa’s PURE Country 94 for keeping the energy level high by filling Marion Dewar Plaza with music all day long.
Thank you to Wyatt McWilliams, Peter Ruiter, Paul Mussell, the amazing rural community, and the Food Aid Committee for your continued support, hard work, and dedication. We appreciate all you have done for this event for the last 15 years.
Thank you to the wonderful organizations who supported the Ottawa Food Bank and our Food Aid Program through the BBQ. We appreciate the support from our major Food Aid donor, the Mechanical Contractors Association of Ottawa. MCA Ottawa works hard every year to raise a very generous donation for the Ottawa Food Bank’s Food Aid Program through their Charity Golf Tournament.
