When the Ottawa Food Bank received word that we would be the beneficiary of CBC’s 23rd annual holiday fundraising campaign, Project Give, we thought it was too good to be true. Even now that it is over, the staff team at the Ottawa Food Bank is still finding the whole experience was just that: too good to be true.
Project Give was a day of story telling, music, and education about the Ottawa Food Bank with the goal of raising as much money as possible. The final total is well beyond what we ever imagined to be possible, and is also considered to be record breaking for Project Give here in Ottawa.
This year’s campaign raised an astonishing $163,810.69 for the Ottawa Food Bank!
THANK YOU to the generous CBC audiences who picked up the phone, went to their computer, or hand-delivered a donation. The impact this will have on the Ottawa community is huge.
Thank you to the “Food Fantasy Nine” who went the extra mile to raise an incredible amount of money in hopes of making their food fantasies come true.
Finally, thank you to CBC Ottawa. Everyone on the CBC team, whether behind the scenes or in front of a camera/microphone, has become part of our family. It was a pleasure to work with you on this campaign. “Thank you” is simply not enough.
Thank you to CBC, all the donors, The Ottawa Food Bank staff
and volunteers – all of you have made a tremendous difference in
the lives of those who need a hand up. Well done!
