Recently, students from Westboro Academy were joined by YMCA exchange students from five communities of Lower North Shore in Quebec (St. Paul’s River, Blanc Sablon, Brador, Old Fort Bay, and Middle Bay). As part of the exchange, students must get involved in an activity that gives back to the community. Westboro Academy’s engagement activity involved collecting food for the Ottawa Food Bank!
The hard-working and dedicated students collected donations by going door-to-door for two days near the beginning of February. Then they toughed the horrible weather on Friday, Feb 8th to come visit the Ottawa Food Bank warehouse and deliver their donation.
These amazing students collected and donated just over 4,000 pounds of food!
