For Immediate Release: September 29, 2014

Help the Ottawa Food Bank make this food drive the best one yet

(Ottawa, ON) – Volunteers are needed for the Ottawa Food Bank’s annual Thanks for Giving Food Drive which begins this weekend and continues next Friday and Saturday in grocery stores across the city.

Volunteers will be at participating Loblaws, Metro, Superstore, and Independent grocery stores handing out food donation bags and encouraging shoppers to donate their family’s favourite non-perishable food items.

Last year, the Ottawa Food Bank’s volunteers helped encourage donors to give an incredible 200,000 pounds of food. Those interested in volunteering are asked to go to www.volunteer.ottawafoodbank.ca and sign up for the time, date, and location that is most convenient.
