The community came together for Capital Food Blitz

With the help of volunteers, local politicians, – including Ottawa Centre MPP, Yasir Naqvi – community grocery stores, and the generosity of shoppers our Capital Food Blitz Food Drive was a huge success this weekend. In just two short days we were able to raise over 72,000 pounds of food for the Ottawa Food Bank! Over the course of the 7 year history of this drive we’ve raised 275,000 pounds of food!

Thank you to those who donated time and food. It is because of you that we are able to continue to help those in need in the Ottawa Region.

If you missed the Capital Food Blitz, a large number of Ottawa grocery stores have red bins for the Ottawa Food Bank year-round; we’re thankful for your donations any time of year.
