Walmart is helping us fight hunger and spark change in our community and across Canada through Food Bank’s Canada. There are a number of way customers can participate, including:
- Purchase participating products: For every purchase (in-store and online at walmart.ca) of select products, participating brands will donate a portion of the proceeds to Food Banks Canada, up to a maximum of $850,000. Partners include: General Mills, Kellogg’s, PepsiCo, KraftHeinz, Mars, Ferrero, Old Dutch, Maple Leaf, Unilever, Lassonde, Mondelez, and Starbucks.
- Donate at the register: From April 5 to April 27, customers will also be offered the opportunity to round up their purchase at the register to the nearest dollar. Funds donated will be matched by Walmart Canada, up to a maximum of $820,000. Donations made in store by customers and matching support from Walmart Canada will support local food banks.
- Drop off food donations: Walmart stores across Ottawa will be, as always, accepting food donations in-store. Look for the Ottawa Food Bank donation bin after you make your purchase.
[blockquote]”Through the Fight Hunger Spark Change campaign in 2017, Walmart Canada, its suppliers and customer donations raised 8 million meals for Food Banks Canada. This year, we’re raising the bar. We’re setting out to raise and donate 10 million meals through Fight Hunger Spark Change in 2018. To deliver on this goal, Walmart Canada will commit $1 million to the campaign,” Walmart says through Walmart.ca.[/blockquote]
