We’re Growing to Meet Demand

As the number of people in need of food assistance in Ottawa rises, so does our need for warehouse space. This summer, the Ottawa Food Bank will expand at its current warehouse location on Michael Street by taking over adjoining office and warehouse space. We are very fortunate to be able to expand while remaining at the same address, where we have been for approximately 15 years.

Our location is vital to our efficiency, as we have in-house warehouse space, and immediate access to the highway which benefits our food industry partners and our transportation team who travel citywide each working day to make food deliveries to our 140 Member Agencies.

Though we’ve formed some fantastic supplier partnerships already, we are in need of everything from office supplies, to toiletries, to the services of skilled trades people.

A big thank you to the Ontario Trillium Foundation for selecting the Ottawa Food Bank as a grant recipient, in an effort to make our warehouse more efficient. The Foundation granted the Ottawa Food Bank $50,000 to use towards the purchase and installation of a new inventory management system that will make tracking our warehouse inventory more accurate and organized.

We would also like to thank Community Foundation of Ottawa, Home Depot Foundation, and Lowe’s Canada for their contributions and support towards our expansion.
