Winter Celelbration with the Governor General

Winter Celebration

January 25, 2014 – 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Come join Governor General David Johnston and Mrs. Sharon Johnston for an afternoon of winter delights at Rideau Hall such as:

  • skating on the outdoor rink
  • dog sledding
  • biathlon
  • kick sledding
  • bandy (ice field hockey)
  • horse-drawn wagon rides
  • residence tours
  • and much more

All activities are free of charge and will take place rain or shine at 1 Sussex Drive. The Governor General will have red bins on site, and is asking for you to kindly bring a donation to the Ottawa Food Bank.

Winter Celebration is presented in partnership with the Embassy of Austria, the Embassy of Finland, the Embassy of the Royal Kingdom of the Netherlands, the Royal Norwegian Embassy, the Embassy of Sweden, the Embassy of Switzerland, and the National Capital Commission.

Free off-site parking is available at the National Research Council (100 Sussex Drive, within walking distance of the residence) and on the streets in the surrounding neighbourhood.
