Community food banks typically provide 3–5 days’ worth of food once per month. This includes fresh and frozen food.

If you need food support sooner than your community food bank can provide, the Ottawa Food Bank may be able to connect you with other services that can can offer more immediate assistance.

Most community food banks will serve people with no fixed address.

Effective June 2025, the way food program visitor information is collected and stored at food programs will be changing. Most take-home food (“grocery”) programs that work with the Ottawa Food Bank will have access to all information provided by visitors since January 2024.
