You Filled Plates this Spring!

Across 21 grocery stores in Ottawa on March 28th alone, we raised 22,986 lbs of food and $8,289.30!

Food insecurity is on a consistent rise in the city. Since 2019, food bank visits across Ottawa have more than doubled—reaching 588,866 visits in 2025.

This year, participating Loblaws, Metro, Real Canadian Superstore, and Your Independent Grocer (YIG) grocery stores joined the 2026 Fill the Plates Spring Food Drive to raise food and funds for the Ottawa Food Bank. We want to recognize store managers and staff members for welcoming us and supporting our fundraising efforts. We appreciate your collaboration and the stores who went the extra mile to create pre-made donation bags.

We are deeply grateful for the 78 dedicated volunteers who gave us 381 hours of their time to collect food and funds at participating grocery stores. Thank you for greeting the community with warmth, interacting with care, facilitating donations, and advocating for a food-secure Ottawa.

Thank you to our neighbours, the time you carved out for us this weekend to donate does not go unnoticed! We appreciate your intention in prioritizing our most needed items and donating a portion of your hard-earned dollars. At a time where the cost of living continues to rise, your efforts are helping us respond to the spring and Easter needs of the community.

If you were unable to attend our spring food drive, you can still donate here or drop-off food items at your local grocery store.

Thank you: participating grocery stores, our loyal volunteers and the Ottawa community!

See you at our next event.
