During the Christmas holiday period, the Ottawa Food Bank warehouse and office will be closed Sat. Dec. 23 to Mon. Jan. 1, 2024. The extended closure will provide Ottawa Food Bank staff with a rest period and time to connect with family.
During the closure, if you or a neighbour needs immediate food assistance, please call 211 for food support options.
Please be sure to call use the Ottawa Food Bank’s online Food look-up tool to find your community food program’s most updated hours of operation.
When to bring food and fund donations to 2001 Bantree Street:
- BEFORE the holidays: Mon. Dec. 18-Thurs. Dec. 21, the Ottawa Food Bank will accept donations between 8:30AM and 6PM. The last day to donate food in person before the holidays will be Friday, December 22 at 3PM.
- AFTER the holidays: Sadly, the need for food support continues beyond the holiday period. Re-starting Tuesday, January 2, 2024, we will be extremely grateful to accept your food donations for the community.

I would be interested in physically volunteering at the food bank anyway, I can contribute I will still have to get a police check. I just recently retired from long-term care at the Perley veterans and taking care of my husband who passed away last year. It’s time for me to get out and meet others I have friends that also volunteer with you so hopefully you will be interested in interviewing me.
