20 Years at Fresco’s

CELEBRATING 20 YEARS

Fresco’s, on Elgin, started February off with a bang at their 20th Anniversary Party on February 1st. The event brought in close to $10,000 for the Ottawa Food Bank, as generous attendees poured in the front door.

This invite-only party included friends, family and loyal customers of Fresco’s owners, and brothers, Jim and Matt Bickford. Guests included Mayor Jim Watson, CTV’s Kevin Newman and Graham Richardson, and Sens defenceman Chris Phillips with his wife Erin.

The original owners of Fresco’s, Dave Leith and Dave Mangano, came to celebrate and helped out behind the bar.

Party-goers were entertained by the musical stylings of Brothers Chaffey, while they enjoyed finger foods from Fresco’s kitchen, as well as a fantastic oyster bar provided by Whalesbone, and wine from distributor Rob Beardall.

Additional food and drink donations were also provided by: Gordon Food Services, Jost Kaufmann Seafood Suppliers, Art Is In Bakery, Falsetto Fine Foods, Mariposa Farms, Beaus Beer, Steamwhistle, Carlsberg, Innis and Gunn, and Diageo.

The silent auction had a wide array of prizes from signed sports memorabilia to spa packages, and brought in over $2,000 on its own!

Thank you and congratulations to Jim and Matt for organizing such a fun and successful night for their 20th Anniversary, while supporting a great cause like local hunger. Everyone at the Ottawa Food Bank wishes Fresco’s the best of luck for another prosperous 20 years!
