Ottawa Summer Food Drive

Ottawa Summer Food Drive 2025

Date: June 1 to June 14, 2025

Location: General Vanier Public School, 1025 Harkness Ave, Ottawa, ON K1V 8J4

Presented by Khalsa Aid Canada, the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board, and Italfoods, the Ottawa Summer Food Drive 2025 is bringing together students across Ottawa to collect food in support of childhood food security.

37% of all food bank visitors in Ottawa are children under the age of 18.

With schools closed in the summer, kids across Ottawa lose access to vital school breakfast and lunch programs, preventing many children from getting enough nutritious food. At the same time, food donations are at their lowest during the summer months.

The Ottawa Summer Food Drive helps raise awareness and fill this gap by providing child-friendly food and snacks to food programs across Ottawa, so kids can receive healthy food during the summer months. Until June 14, students at 16 schools within the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board, supported by Italfoods, are collecting food in support of the Ottawa Food Bank.

Donated food will be dropped off at the Ottawa Food Bank and Ottawa Community Housing Foundation on Saturday, June 14.
