The Ottawa Food Bank recently held its 3rd Annual Food Sort Challenge. An event that ran from 10 in the morning until 4:30 in the afternoon with 20 teams pairing off two at a time to sort a tonne of food the fastest. What a day!
Thank you to the 20 teams who participated. Collectively you:
- Fundraised $13,612
- Donated 420 pounds of food
- Sorted 20 tons of food

A huge congratulations to the TARGET CRUSHERS from Target for being the Food Sort Champions. Your team will forever be recognized on our trophy, and you all get to enjoy an Ottawa Sens game in a suite generously donated by Stoneworks Technologies! Your amazing time was 10 minutes and 26 seconds.
Also congratulations to Larry, a participant on the One Hand Behind Our Backs team of Ottawa Food Bank volunteers. Larry, you were the top individual fundraiser. You’ve won set of four tickets to the Gowlings Suite for Sens vs. Sabres donated by Gowlings!
Honourary mention goes to the MPI Minions for best costume. The whole team dressed from head to toe as Minions – and they look amazing.
