We were honoured to welcome to our Community Harvest farm Her Excellency the Right Honourable Mary Simon, Governor General and Commander-in-Chief of Canada.
She joined our volunteers to wash kale and pick tomatoes, all while speaking with our Manager of Community Harvest, Jason Gray and CEO, Rachael Wilson.
The visit was perfectly timed as it aligned with Hunger Action Month’s EDUCATE week. It was an important opportunity to share about not only our farm but also the critical work of the network of food programs in Ottawa which work tirelessly to ensure their neighbours have access to the food they need.
