Hunger Action Month 2023: VOLUNTEER

The third theme for Hunger Action Month is VOLUNTEER

Donating your time and skills is an impactful way to help fill the gaps created by food insecurity.

Ottawa's Best Volunteers

The Ottawa Food Bank is proud to have one of the largest and most dedicated communities of volunteers in the city, with over 2,000 active* volunteers and many more on our email distribution list waiting for the opportunity that suits them best.

Below we’ve highlighted our main volunteer opportunities offered by our Volunteer Program. With out the amazing individuals who sign up to participate in the opportunities below, the Ottawa Food Bank would simply not be able to serve the community as it does.  THANK YOU to the people who give so freely of their time and energy.

Sorting Food

We purchase, collect, and distribute food to over 100 food banks and food programs across the city. This food must be inspected and then organized so it can be distributed to our network and the community.
