Hunger Action Month Food Insecurity Poverty Ottawa Food Bank

Hunger Action Month is a time for all communities across Canada to come together and learn about hunger, while advocating for change and supporting our neighbours.

The first theme of Hunger Action Month is EDUCATE.

Keep an eye on our social media for updates, and join in on the conversation! We want to hear what you have to say. Share our posts and help us inform everyone about food banks, food insecurity, and the Ottawa Food Bank.

Make sure you use the hashtag #HungerActionMonth

Impossible Choices Learning/Teaching Tool

Living with Hunger: Impossible Choices” is a group of three interactive, online videos created by Food Banks Canada that illustrate how it is possible that a person in Canada can slide into poverty and hunger.

There are stereotypes about who experiences hunger and food insecurity. As hunger touches all demographics, it’s time that we educate ourselves on who truly benefits from the generosity of community food programs and their supporters.

For further information about the Ottawa Food Bank’s reach, programs, and operations please take a look at our most recent Year in Review and Ottawa Hunger Report.
