Today, we are sending out a huge THANK YOU to the dedicated staff, volunteers and community members who helped ensure the success of the 37th annual OC Transpo / Loblaw Christmas Food Drive!
On Saturday, December 4, OC Transpo busses visited Loblaws, No Frills, Superstore, and Your Independent Grocers locations across the city. The College Square Loblaws featured Jump! 106.9 and BOOM 99.7 radio stations as they helped stuff the bus and encouraged monetary donations.
This year, 147 volunteers donated a collective total of 528.5 hours in support of the OC Transpo/Loblaws Christmas Food Drive. We couldn’t do what we do without Ottawa’s Best Volunteers!
Last year, the Ottawa Food Bank spent over $2.2 million a year on food to ensure we were able to keep up with demand and providing a variety of nutritious food options. Because the Ottawa Food Bank is able to obtain food in such large quantities, and due to our incredible food industry partners and supporters, we are able to make your donation go further. This means that every $1 donated = $5 of food delivered to the community.
