#ThankfulThursday: Christopher Griffin

There is an art to every practice – fundraising included.

Artists have long been recognized as the leaders of community engagement, bringing attention to social issues and gaps in need of support. This #ThankfulThursday, please join us in recognizing the amazing contributions of community member, Christopher Griffin.

When the COVID-19 pandemic struck leaving many in crisis, Ottawa artist Christopher Griffin recognized the need to get involved. In 2020, Christopher raised $36,812 for the Ottawa Food Bank in just 6 months. Following the success of his incredible fundraising initiative, Christopher was inspired to continue his fundraising efforts.

From Thursday, October 7 – Thursday, December 30, 2021, Christopher Griffin Art Studio hosts the “Every Thursday Art Auction,” an art auction fundraiser with 100% of proceeds benefiting the Ottawa Food Bank.

“I strongly admire the many volunteers active in charity foundations. I ask myself - how can I best contribute? I can pack boxes for 2 hours, or I can paint [and sell/donate] a painting for much more than the value of my labour.”
