Happy National Volunteer Week!

As National Volunteer Week kicks off in Canada, we would like to take a moment to thank all of #OttawasBestVolunteers who have generously given their time and energy to the Ottawa Food Bank. Your unwavering dedication and passion have enabled us to continue providing food support to individuals and families affected by food insecurity in our city.

This year’s theme for National Volunteer Week is Volunteering Weaves Us Together, reminding us of the crucial role volunteers play in creating a supportive and diverse community. You have helped us weave a strong fabric of support for those in our community who are struggling with food insecurity. We are proud to report that over 2,000 individual volunteers donated more than 17,000 hours of their time and talent to the Ottawa Food Bank during the 2021-2022 fiscal year. This allowed us to meet the 44% increase in demand for food support.

To learn more about the impact of #OttawasBestVolunteers, check out our 2023 Volunteer Impact Report. This report highlights the incredible impact of our volunteers and their contributions to our mission.

Thank you for being a part of our team and for helping us weave a strong and supportive community for all.
Happy National Volunteer Week to all who volunteer!
