Hunger Action Month Week Two: ADVOCATE

Hunger Action Month Food Insecurity Poverty Ottawa Food Bank

Hunger Action Month is a time for all communities across Canada to come together and learn about hunger, while advocating for change and supporting our neighbours.

The second theme of Hunger Action Month is ADVOCATE.

Keep an eye on our social media for updates, and join in on the conversation! We want to hear what you have to say. Share our posts and help us inform everyone about food banks, food insecurity, and the Ottawa Food Bank.

Make sure you use the hashtag #HungerActionMonth

Tell your MPP: Don't let this health crisis also become a housing crisis!

With your help and with guidance from Feed Ontario, our provincial affiliate, we want to let our MPPs know that the time for change is now.

We can not let the current health crisis become a housing crisis as well. Unaffordable rent arrears and repayment plans add stress to so many people living pay cheque to pay cheque.

Complete a virtual “postcard” that will be sent to your local Member of Provincial Parliament, asking the Government of Ontario to implement rent relief.

Share the link online and encourage your followers to participate as well. Remember to tag us (@OttawaFoodBank), Feed Ontario (@FeedOntario), and use #HungerActionMonth!
