Impacts of Food Insecurity

IFSD, in partnership with the Maple Leaf Centre for Food Security and the Office for Research and Public Policy Outreach at the University of Ottawa, is hosting a discussion on the impacts of food insecurity in economic and local terms. Join us as we explore the costs and consequences of food insecurity in Canada.

During this public event, expert researchers and practitioners will share local and national perspectives on the immediate and sustained impacts of food insecurity. The panel includes:

  • Moderator: Adrian Harewood, Journalist and Associate Professor, Carleton University
  • Panelist: Natalie Spooner, Interim CEO, Ottawa Food Bank
  • Panelist: Rebekah Young, Vice President, Scotiabank
  • Panelist: Geranda Notten, Full Professor, University of Ottawa
  • Armchair Discussion: Valerie Tarasuk, Professor Emerita, University of Toronto
